Roní
Mountain tradition with views over Pallars
Roní is a mountain hamlet located 6.7 km from Rialp, in Pallars Sobirà. It is reached via the C-13 road towards Llavorsí; after passing Pont de Pedra, a turn-off indicates the road to Roní and to the Port Ainé ski resort.
The village climbs up to 1,101 metres above sea level, on the bank of the Noguera Pallaresa and northeast of Beraní, dominating the landscape from a privileged setting.

The church of Sant Cristòfol stands out for its robust square bell tower which, because of its proportions and solidity, looks more like a defensive tower than a bell tower. The entrance is through the base of the tower. Today, the building is in rather poor condition.
At the exit of the village stands the Ermita de Sant Miquel, a small open oratory which, like a porch, offers shelter to walkers in bad weather.
The proximity to the Port Ainé ski resort has boosted the growth of tourism and related services: rural accommodation and farmhouse lodging. There has also been considerable renovation of homes and the construction of second residences.
- Main festival: second weekend of July (patron saint: Mare de Déu del Roser)
- Aplec de Sant Miquel: 8 May, the village’s smaller festival
Roní offers a wide range of points of interest: the old school, the bread oven and the washhouse, all reminders of traditional daily life.
The natural surroundings, within the Alt Pirineu Natural Park, are ideal for wildlife observation and interpretive trails such as the Wild and Domestic Fauna Trail (Borda de Macià).
Other highlights include the Reguerals lime tree, declared a Site of National Interest, and the Historical Memory Trail at Pedres d’Auló.
In winter, the Port Ainé ski resort and the Sant Joan de l’Erm cross-country ski resort are the main sporting attractions in the area.
